Kyle Chandler is an exceptional actor with an unmistakable old-time movie star aura reminiscent of Cary Grant and Paul Newman, and an everyman appeal that has evoked comparisons to Jimmy Stewart and Gary Cooper. Born in Buffalo, NY on September 17, 1965, Kyle moved to Chicago at an early age but grew up in rural Georgia. He majored in theatre at the University of Georgia, and moved to Hollywood soon after graduation, where he eventually landed several small roles, including a recurring role on CBS's "Tour Of Duty." But it was his role as Jeff Metcalf, the young, earnest baseball player on the short-lived ABC drama "Homefront" that brought him center stage.
