Jeff and Ginger having a phone conversation (from "Kids") Ginger: I thought you were coming by the drugstore tonight. Jeff: I did. Ginger (confused, and a little annoyed): You did? Well I guess technically I didn't get stood up then, but I didn't see you here. Jeff (in a cool tone, to hide his jealousy): You were busy. Ginger: I'm always busy. Jeff: Busy talking to someone. Ginger (thinking, "what is he miffed at??"): That's part of my job... Jeff (the jealousy is starting to come out): It looked like a private conversation. Ginger (suddenly realizing what he means, smiles to herself): You mean Charlie? Jeff (trying to sound cool again): Oh, is that his name... Ginger (really enjoying this): You were watching us? Jeff: You looked like you wanted some privacy. Ginger (now she's teasing him): Well that was considerate of you. Jeff: I didn't enjoy being considerate! (mad at himself for losing his cool, takes the telephone receiver away from his ear, then makes a face and puts it back to his ear) Ginger: Do you want to know why Charlie was here? Jeff: Not if you don't want to tell me. Ginger: He was having second thoughts about his marriage and breaking up with me. Jeff (again trying to sound cool): Oh. (carefully) Are... you? Ginger: Having second thoughts? (pauses to make him sweat a bit, then smiles) No. Jeff: I-I just wondered...
